Yong Teng Steakhouse is not situated in a bustling area, lacking significant foot traffic nearby, and it takes at least 20 minutes to walk from the Sanchong Elementary School MRT station. Unsure if it was due to pregnancy, on this particular day, there was a special craving for the corn chowder from the steakhouse. After checking Google, which showed overall positive reviews, and considering its proximity to home, we decided to explore the restaurant! Surprisingly, during our dining experience on a Monday evening, the place was at least 3/4 full. It was clear that the establishment possessed a distinctive charm to attract such a substantial number of patrons.

Yong Teng Steakhouse – Meals

All-you-can-eat buffet

Buffet appetizers: kimchi, seaweed, and penne pasta.

Yong Teng Steakhouse’s penne pasta, although slightly chilled, was a hit with my daughter. It had a kid-friendly sweet and sour flavor, and there was plenty of beef inside. Notably, the carrots and onions were sautéed to perfection, offering a delicious sweetness. My child devoured all the vegetables, leaving this mom impressed! The restaurant also thoughtfully provided IKEA children’s tableware, adding to its family-friendly charm!

During pregnancy, all I craved was corn chowder, and I indulged in three bowls. I earnestly hope that in the future, they’ll consider offering a creamy soup with puff pastry, even at an additional cost! While many rave about Yongteng Aged Steakhouse’s minestrone soup, I found myself uninterested. The ingredients in the soup were indeed abundant, and the beef portion was quite generous. However, the tomato flavor was too subtle for my liking, lacking the robust acidity and aroma. Honestly, the beef was a bit tough, and I couldn’t bring myself to finish it, so I won’t elaborate further on that!

Yong Teng Steakhouse’s pre-meal bread is a Parmesan cheese bread, setting it apart from the usual steakhouse offerings. Paired with garlic-flavored mentaiko spread, the combination of savory and sweet flavors is quite delightful. Unfortunately, the bread isn’t refillable, which is a bit of a pity.

I personally prefer the tender and marbled type of beef. I ordered the Japanese A5 Black Wagyu for $1299, and on the side, there’s a heated stone for adjusting the desired doneness. The sauce is paired with black pepper and garlic slices. The garlic slices have a sweet and crispy texture, adding richness to the overall experience when combined with the steak.

Yong Teng Steakhouse – Dipping Sauce

Dipping sauces: Onion Black Pepper Sauce, Tomato Mushroom Sauce, Crispy Fried Garlic Slices, Honey Mustard Sauce, Citrus Yakiniku Sauce, Chef’s Special Rich Cheese Sauce (additional $20), Chef’s Special Truffle Red Wine Sauce (additional $20).

Judging by the cut, you can tell the meat is truly tender. The bite reveals rich and sweet juices. I would rate the recommendation as a solid three out of five. I find the slightly satisfying sizzle sound when pressing down a bit adds to the appetite appeal.

Angus Aged Ribeye and Tenderloin NT$ 788

Angus Aged Ribeye and Tenderloin, priced at $788, weighs a generous 21oz, equivalent to 600g. The meat is rich in flavor, and it seems my husband is in for a satisfying meal. As for the Chuck Eye Roll, I find it a bit too sinewy with insufficient marbling, but it’s one of the softer parts of the beef shoulder. Considering the price and portion size, it’s a good deal! Yongteng Steakhouse.

I find it tender enough; no need for additional heating! However, it pairs wonderfully with the Citrus Yakiniku Sauce!

Yong Teng Steakhouse – Personal Experience

This price range is a bit delicate in Sanchong. It’s considered relatively high for Sanchong, but in Taipei City, it falls into the moderate range. I believe the main reason is the excellent service, reminiscent of the Wang Steak from around 10 years ago. A pleasant atmosphere tends to enhance the enjoyment of the food!

There are two brands of ice cream (Meiji and another one that the pregnant lady forgot). Although the selection is not extensive, the offerings are from well-known brands. In the beverage section, they have sparkling water, which I find to be a bonus. Having sparkling water is refreshing and helps cleanse the palate.

In summary, for those who have specific requirements for steak quality, ambiance, and service, this restaurant is highly recommended. If the focus is solely on meat quality, I suggest trying Da Zhi Steakhouse, which is also on my list of recommended places for meat in Sanchong. I will provide a more detailed food review in the future.
